    【Approximately 50 min by bus】

    Kinkakuji, or the Golden Pavilion, was constructed in 1397 by Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, the 3rd Shogun of the Muromachi Bakufu.
    During the Showa period (1926-1989), Kinkakuji was destroyed by arson and later reconstructed in 1955.
    The site is most famous for its Golden Pavilion but also contains a carefully-designed garden and pond that occupy the greater part of the 123,231m2 grounds. There are numerous sights to discover. The magnificent exterior and interior of Kinkakuji are adorned in more than 20kg of gold.

    Arashiyama is a renowned location for being able to experience the wonders of Japan's four seasons whenever you visit.
    In addition to the Sakura (cherry) blossoms and autumn leaves for which it is famous, Arashiyama also offers splendid green trees during summer and a beautiful snow-covered landscape in winter.
    There are few places in Japan that offer such a dynamic display of the seasons as that witnessed here.
    Designated as one of Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Viewing Sites and Top 100 Autumn Leaves Viewing Sites.

    Kyoto Tower sits directly in front of Kyoto Station.
    Within the tower, you can find a souvenir sales corner, restaurants, bars, and more.
    The observation room stands 100m off the ground offering a 360-degree panoramic view of the city and the Higashiyama Sanju-roppo mountain range that surrounds it. From here, you can watch the townscape of Kyoto transform with each passing season.
    The tower is illuminated at night to evoke a different impression from that felt during the day.

  • Fushimi Inari-taishaFushimi Inari-taisha

    【Approximately 25 min by train】

    Fushimi Inari-taisha is the head shrine of the 30,000 Inari shrines said to be located throughout Japan.
    The entire Inariyama hill, which houses the complex's main hall, makes up the shrine's object of worship.Within the shrine grounds, there are approximately 10,000 vermillion torii gates that imbue the area with a sacred atmosphere, while creating an awe-inspiring sight.
    This famous attraction is often featured in Instagram posts of visitors to the area.

    This renowned temple lets visitors experience the splendor of Kyoto's four seasons.
    The seasonal scenery viewed from the main hall is always a popular attraction, but the sights available along the temple paths offer plenty of excitement as well.
    After climbing the Kiyomizu-zaka street that leads up to Kiyomizu-dera and is lined with souvenir shops, you will be greeted by the bright vermillion Niomon Gate towering above you.
    A couple other popular attractions at the temple are the 3-tiered pagoda that lies beyond the Niomon Gate and Otowa-no-taki Waterfall where worshippers come to pray for academic success, luck in romance, and good health.

    Nijo-jo Castle is the historical site where the Tokugawa house announced the return of power to the Meiji Emperor.
    In addition to the nationally-designated historic landmarks found on the castle grounds, the treasured castle architecture bears testament to the vicissitudes of history and is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site (Cultural Property) and Historic Monument of Ancient Kyoto.
